The questions pet parents ask us most — about formulas, safety, orders, and grooming. Answered straight, no fluff.
Products & Safety
What makes FurAmore different from regular pet shampoos?
Four non-negotiables across every product: pH-balanced for pet skin (not repurposed human formulas), paraben-free, lick-safe for natural grooming behaviour, and formulated for Indian climates — monsoon humidity, summer heat, and winter dryness.
Why can't I just use my own shampoo on my pet?
Pet skin is more alkaline than human skin. Human shampoos — even baby shampoo — disrupt their skin barrier, leading to dryness, itching, flaking, and long-term coat damage. Every FurAmore formula is calibrated specifically for canine or feline skin pH.
Can I use dog shampoo on my cat?
No — cats have a different skin pH and a more sensitive coat structure than dogs. Use our
Aqua Fresh Gentle Cat Shampoo, formulated exclusively for feline skin. Never use dog products on cats.
Are FurAmore products safe for puppies and kittens?
Our formulas are gentle, hypoallergenic, and paraben-free — but we don't recommend bathing pets under 8 weeks old with any shampoo. For young pets past that age, start with our Gentle Care range and consult your vet if your pet has known skin conditions.
What does "lick safe" mean?
Pets groom themselves by licking — it's unavoidable. Lick safe means our rinsed-off formulas contain no toxic ingredients in the trace amounts a pet would ingest during normal post-bath grooming. Always rinse thoroughly and keep bottles away from pets and children.
Which shampoo should I choose for my dog?
Does the Neem & Lemon shampoo actually prevent ticks?
Neem is a well-known natural repellent with antibacterial properties. Regular baths help control and deter ticks and fleas — especially through India's humid months from March to October. For best results, leave the lather on for 3–5 minutes before rinsing. For an active infestation, pair bathing with vet-prescribed tick treatment.
Usage & Grooming
How often should I bathe my dog?
Every 2–4 weeks works for most breeds in Indian conditions. During monsoon or peak tick season (March–October), more frequent baths are fine — our gentle, pH-balanced formulas won't strip the coat's natural oils with regular use.
What's the right way to use FurAmore shampoo?
1. Wet the coat thoroughly with clean water.
2. Apply shampoo and massage into a lather — focus on neck, behind ears, and underbelly.
3. Leave on 3–5 minutes (especially the Anti-Tick formula).
4. Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.
5. Follow with a FurAmore conditioner for softness and easier detangling.
Do I really need a conditioner for my pet?
Not mandatory, but it makes a visible difference — especially for long coats, dry coats, or pets that tangle easily. Our conditioners (Deep Moisture, Vanilla, Floral) are safe for both dogs and cats and reduce post-bath frizz and matting.
My pet has a skin condition. Can I still use FurAmore?
For diagnosed skin conditions, check with your veterinarian first. Our hypoallergenic Oatmeal and Gentle Care formulas suit most sensitive-skin pets, but a vet knows your pet's specific case. If irritation ever occurs with any product, discontinue use immediately.
